A familiar face has returned to the Super Bowl as the Indianapolis Colts defeated the New York Jets to win the AFC championship. In what seemed to be a very tight game in the first half, the Colts opened things up by scoring 17 unanswered points in the 3rd and 4th periods. Peyton Manning was superb in the game, throwing for 377 yards and 3 touchdowns. On the other side, rookie QB Mark Sanchez played very well throwing for 257 yards, 2 touchdowns and only one interception. Sanchez became just the fourth quarterback to lead his team to the conference title game and lose.
